Short summary
This study presents a new method to measure the isotopic composition of snowfall and atmospheric water vapor in Antarctica. With a single laser spectrometer, it enables continuous, high frequency observations without human intervention. Tests in East Antarctica show a very good agreement with conventionnal snow sampling. This new sampling method opens new opportunities to better understand snowfall formation, improve climate models, and refine the interpretation of ice core climate records.
