Short summary
A numerical model for a mixing-type condensation particle counter (MCPC) was developed to map the performance for the ultrafine particle detection by varying its operational settings . It is found that a high temperature difference increases the vapor supersaturation and lowers the activation size of particles. Both the total flow rate and the vapor-fraction affect the efficiency of particle condensation growth. This work outlines the future design guidance for small MCPCs.
